Position Details POSTING DATE: May 2, 2024POSITION: High School Student Success Coordinator Para-ProfessionalREPORTS TO: High School Building PrincipalRESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor student progress including attendance and academic dataImplement weekly student check-ins with students who are on the failure list or near failing Monitor student chill breaksIdentify and implement appropriate academic interventions including: academic contracts, tutoring, homework lab, etc. Communicate clearly with the student, family, and school staff regarding academic support plans and interventionsWork with the building RTI team to review and improve student plans and progress Oversee Responsible Thinking CenterManagement of student's written plans, negotiations with classroom teachers, and facilitation of re-entry into classroomsCommunicate with teaching and counseling staff on a daily basisCollect and analyze multiple sets of behavior and attendance dataAssist in the supervision of students during instructional and non-instructional timeMaintain confidentiality when dealing with students, families, staff, and community members DESIRED SKILL SET/QUALIFICATIONS: College Degree and/or Teaching Certification preferredKnowledge of or willingness to learn about the Responsible Thinking Process and Restorative Justice Practices including reading applicable literatureAbility to meet diverse learning needs of studentsExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skillsInterested in and knowledge of working with high school studentsExhibits positive rapport with students, parents, staff members, and communityDemonstrate commitment to professional growthPossess the ability to problem solve and promote positive prosocial behaviorTraining in Trauma Informed Practices and behavior de-escalation preferred SALARY: Per the Para-Professional Bargaining AgreementSTARTING DATE: August 2024APPLICATION PROCESS OR APPLY ONLINE @: Send a letter of interest and resume to:Williamston Community SchoolsRe: WHS Student Success Para-Pro418 Highland St.Williamston, MI 48895 DEADLINE: Until filledWilliamston Community Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer
