The Role:
To develop and manage high risk programs and systems for the prevention of potential serious injuries, illnesses and fatalities. High-risk programs refer to high severity/low frequency and high frequency/low severity risks, and higher risk workplaces (e.g. laboratories, warehouses and fieldwork). To lead investigations into recordable and HIPO incidents and manage programs for mitigation of project and business HSE risks.
What you'll do:
Design, develop, review, and continuously improve new/existing prevention programs for high severity/low frequency and
high frequency/low severity risks and higher risk workplaces
Lead high-risk incident investigations to understand what occurred, identify contributing factors and causes, recommend actions, update IMS and share learnings.
Manage systems for and provide advice on Principal Contractor arrangements
Identify, support implementation of and monitor the effectiveness of hazard and risk controls with an emphasis on critical controls, including the identification of actual and potential failure in controls.
Facilitate review and update of Enterprise, Business Group and Section HSE Risk Registers
Identify and arrange support to projects with high HSE risks
Support planning and implementation of HSE resources/requirements for major projects
Manage OFSC certification
About You
Have a hands on approach, think outside the box attitude with a curious business mind to advise and consult in the HSE space
MUST have Postgraduate Qualification in HSE, coupled with extensive proven HSE experience
Experience in development and delivery of new view (e.g., Safety Type II, Safety Differently, HOP, etc) safety programs
Experience in leading investigations into high potential and/or significant incidents
Development and management of high risk HSE prevention programs experience
Industry experience in WSP's primary markets is a MUST
Exceptional communicating and presenting information skills
Proven problem solving and critical thinking is needed for this role
Engagement and relationship building is essential
Be able to handle negotiation and management of conflict
Have experience in project management and management of change
HSE technical skills (e.g. training, auditing, investigation, etc) is essential
MUST have knowledge of WSP HSE risk profile
Show past knowledge of relevant WSP systems, procedures, and practices
Prove past knowledge of WSP business processes and business stakeholders
