In this role, you will oversee daily operations including circulation in a range of areas, manage staff, ensure top-tier customer service, and implement innovative solutions for a dynamic library experience.

What your day will look like: Assist with the coordination of effective daily operations of the Hervey Bay Library in relation to circulation and customer services areas.Monitor the adequacy of circulation Services resources including equipment.Exercise initiative and judgement on customer requests.Oversee the operational activities of circulation library staff and volunteers at the Hervey Bay Library including providing expert advice.In consultation with the Hervey Bay Librarian develop and implement regular staff training activities.Manage the circulation rostering system for staff at Hervey Bay Library and arrange replacement staff on short notice.What you'll need for success: Current Class C Drivers LicenceWorking with Children Blue Card, or willing to obtain prior to commencementDemonstrated experience in a public library environment, with particular emphasis on library circulation management, staff supervision and training activities, along with implementing exceptional customer service techniques.Highly developed communication skills including oral and written.Demonstrated high level of organisation and analytical skills.Benefits of Working with Council: Learning and development opportunitiesFlexible working arrangementsUp to 12% employer super contribution17.5% leave loadingStudy assistance programNovated leasing24/7 access to Employee Assistance ProgramPaid maternity and paternity leaveApply now: Applications close 11pm on Monday 06 January 2024 – subject to change pending qualified applications received.
