About the role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced professional to join our team as a Heritage Advisor on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our Aboriginal Archaeology team is growing and we are looking for highly motivated heritage professionals who want to grow their skills, experience and career with us.
The position is located in our Sydney office, but you will have the opportunity to work on projects nationally.
The Heritage Advisor is responsible for carrying out commercial consultancy projects, requiring skills in project management as well as key technical experience and project management of Aboriginal cultural heritage projects, including budgeting, fieldwork logistics, client liaison and invoicing.
About You Essential skills and experience Appropriate degree (heritage conservation, architecture, planning, history, cultural heritage studies, as appropriate), with Honours or equivalent. Demonstrated professional experience. Demonstrated ability to prepare documentation to a high standard. Experience in delivering successful and timely projects. Demonstrated experience in execution of archaeological surveys and excavations, site identification, recording, assessment, and Aboriginal community consultation. Demonstrated experience in site inspections, recording, and research. Sound working knowledge of relevant local, state and national level legislations applicable to local, state, national and World heritage. Availability and willingness to work out of the Sydney metro area for short-term projects or fieldwork, as well as inter-state. Excellent oral, written, and organisational skills. Sound knowledge of principles and best practice guidelines as outlined in the Australia ICOMOS Burra Charter.
