What's the opportunity?
As a Senior Power & Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be integral part of network powerand transmission facilities team at Vocus. You'll demonstrate technical know-how and provide expert level power engineering support for building and operating telecommunications power and facility infrastructure at highest reliability. You'll be a technical lead in network builds, lifecycle and capacity upgrade projects.
*** MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN AS YOU WILL NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE TO GAIN A GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE - NV1 *** What you'll be doing: Creating, reviewing, updating technical documentation Assessment of existing and new technologies Support technology change and lab trials Capacity planning of power systems and transmission facilities Ensuring operational integrity of management of power systems is maintained L3 technical support for NOC (Network Operations Centre) Technical support for field operations team Review of field testing and performance data After hours on-call technical support Support infrastructure upgrade (or new build) project activities with detailed designs, electrical drawings, commissioning and QA (quality assurance) documentation Conduct site visits and undertake commissioning, QA tasks and troubleshooting Technical support for datacenter rack and power deployments What you need to bring to the table:
*** MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN AS YOU WILL NEED TO BE ELIGIBLE TO GAIN A GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE - NV1 *** Minimum 10 years post graduate experience in telecommunications industry as power and/or infrastructure engineer Proven track record in delivering power, facility upgrade projects including grid powered and off-grid CEVs (Controlled Environmental Vaults) across remote regions of Australia Project experience in producing, reviewing electrical and control drawings for CEVs Project experience in producing design, scope of works, commissioning, testing documentation Operational experience in implementing and operating remotely managed power technologies Prior experience in implementing and operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for CEVs Good experience in in the resolution and rectification of faults in telecommunications networks and data centres Project and operations hands-on with Solar PV, DC, AC, Battery technologies from leading vendors Good experience in implementing and maintaining cooling technologies including split system air-conditioning and free-air cooling Good experienced in the developing and reviewing documentation of technical specifications, operating standards and procedures Good experience in power management systems supporting and protecting network integrity and reliability Proven track record in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment Education, Knowledge, Skills Education Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering Qualified to obtain Engineers Registration as Professional Engineer (or equivalent) in The extra stuff we know you want to know
