This is a great opportunity to join an industry leading inflight catering and retail partner specialising in inflight catering and retail, food manufacturing, and airport lounge management.

A mechanical trade qualification, proven diagnostic skills and a commitment to customer service excellence will see you well placed to succeed in this role.

You will be responsible for ensuring the large fleet (of specialised trucks) are well maintained to a road worthy standard and repairs or parts are identified and completed in an efficient and safe manner.

Minimal downtime of fleet and the regular reporting of mechanical diagnosis/updates is key.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: Inspecting and test driving vehicles to diagnose malfunctions to ensure that they are working safely and properly.Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.Troubleshooting fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic diagnostics.Tuning engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning.Repairing, replacing, or adjusting defective parts.Scheduled routine maintenance.Installing or repairing air conditioners and servicing components, such as compressors, condensers, and controls.Managing and controlling spare parts as well as updating the vehicle maintenance system.Coordinating services and repairs performed by contractors/service providers in consultation with operations to minimise impact on the business.Being on-call after hours to attend or provide support for breakdowns. What do you need to be successful in securing this role? Demonstrated success in a similar role, preferably on Diesel Vehicles.Mechanical Trade Qualifications.Heavy Rigid License, or ability to obtain one.Proven Diagnostic skills.Electrical and PLC's (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge is essential.Good written and verbal skills and computer proficiency (MS Excel and Word).Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed to fulfil requirements of the role.As you will be working in the Aviation industry, a mandatory Police Check clearance must be undertaken (at our cost).
