We are seeking a qualified and motivated Heavy Vehicle Diesel/Plant Mechanic to join Brickworks National Workshop at our Horsley Park plant. Reporting to the National Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing vehicles and plant equipment in a timely manner. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our business while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
Duties include but are not limited to: Perform repairs and maintenance of our trucks (Volvo) and other plant equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.Perform detailed inspections of trucks and plant equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance on company owned equipment.Perform fabrication and repair component parts.Identify and repair or report worn or failed components.Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders and parts usage) on computer systems.Follow administrative procedures for completion of DVR's as instructed.Complete service checklists, and other paperwork accurately and legibly IAW company guidelines.Record and advise supervisor/manager of any maintenance and repairs that may require further investigation.Monitor the condition of materials and equipment to ensure they are ready for safe use.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Success Requirements: Automotive qualification such as Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic.Strong mechanical aptitude for mechanical and electrical diagnosis.Experience in heavy vehicle and heavy equipment service and maintenance.Full driver's licence - Heavy Rigid / Heavy Combination licence (desirable).Welding experience (MIG/TIG and Oxy) is desirable.Experience with Volvo equipment (desirable).Ability to work to a high standard and a strong commitment to health and safety.Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.Highly motivated with a keen willingness to learn and develop.Why join us?
