Automotive Apprenticeships Available: Heavy Vehicle + Automotive Electrical Dual Trade ApprenticeshipTraining is conducted in person at the MTA's Training and Employment Centre in Royal Park (Adelaide), Cleve and Bordertown.
What is a Heavy Vehicle and Automotive Electrical Dual Trade? As a dual trade light vehicle mechanic and automotive electrician, you will maintain, diagnose and repair various electrical systems and components of heavy vehicles.
About the Apprenticeship Undertake a 5 Year Apprenticeship and obtain AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology and AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.Utilise the most advanced electronic diagnostic equipment, to diagnose and repair on-board computer-controlled systems, optimise efficiency and performance.Test and repair various electrical systems including lighting, instrumentation, ignition, fuel injection, stability control systems and CAN BUS systems.Diagnose and repair various components and parts such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, steering and suspension, and performing advanced diagnostics.Diagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test diesel vehicles such as trucks, buses and other heavy vehicle equipment.All apprentices are trained in Electric Vehicle and Hybrid Electric Vehicle safety to prepare them for the future.Air-conditioning training is included in this apprenticeship, subject to licensing requirements through ArcTick.Work and earn a wage at a supportive Host Employer (the MTA will find you a suitable Host Employer)Attend automotive training at a state-of-the-art training centreOnce qualified you will have a nationally recognised qualificationTraining is a combination of in-person, online and in the workplace.
About you

Essential:
Currently living in South Australia16 years of age or olderIn Year 11 or higherWilling to commit to a 5-year apprenticeship (completely paid for by MTA)Driver's Licence- full-time apprentices must have Ps & school-based apprentices must have LsPassionate about automotiveDesirable, but NOT essential:
Have completed a Certificate I or II in AutomotivePreviously worked with hand/power toolsHave work experience in the automotive industryAbout the Role Work on Scania, John Deere, Case, New Holland machinery and much more…
You will attend automotive training at one of MTA's state-of-the-art training centres to gain hands-on, practical skills and knowledge from industry-leading trainersWork and earn a wage at a supportive Host Employer (the MTA will find you a suitable Host Employer)Why work for the MTA?
