We are currently seeking Heavy Vehicle Mechanics - Truck and Plant, to join our team.
About the role: Truck Mechanics - Diagnose and complete repairs/servicing on a fleet of Mack Trident and Kenworth truck and dog combinations.
Plant Mechanics - Diagnose and complete repairs/servicing on a wide range of fleet consisting of mainly CAT/Komatsu gear ranging from 125t Excavators and D11 dozers down to 8t Excavators and skid steers.
Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices. Work within workshop rules and regulations at all times. Liaising with direct managers, supervisors and managers daily. Thoroughly diagnose and repair faults. Service and maintain equipment of Plant and truck fleet. Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards. Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance. Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules. Co ordinating with suppliers sourcing parts on quality and best price. Maintaining company tools and equipment. Ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Essential requirements: Current drivers' licence. Forklift licence. Fully qualified with at least 2 years' experience as a qualified Plant or Heavy Diesel Mechanic. RMS Vehicle inspection ticket.
Preferred but not essential. Sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes and suspension. Sound knowledge of Plant Equipment Basic auto electrical knowledge. Competent with computers and digital diagnostics. Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done. Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety. A person who is approachable with excellent people management skills. A professional, confident and self-assured person with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and apply learnings to improve workshop processes. A team player who is action focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns. Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes. Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals. Experience in working in a high-performance team. Ability to work flexible hours.
