The Genus Fleet workshop is expanding to Prestons NSW, creating a new role for a skilled mechanic to join the operations team.
This expansion is backed by support from various depots across NSW and nationwide, with fleet coordinators and mechanics dedicated to servicing these locations.
The Benefits Long term, job security (Permanent, Full-time) Starting rates from $50-$60 per hour (flat rate) Monday-Friday with possible weekend work Call-out Allowance Fantastic opportunity to join a growing ASX listed Company Access to our Employee Assistance Program for you and your family The Role As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic you will be working within our busy workshop at our Prestons site reporting directly to the Workshop & Fleet Manager.
This role requires a high degree of autonomy as you will be the sole mechanic based in Prestons.
Duties included but are not limited to: Provide general servicing and maintenance for various light, medium and heavy road transport, EWP trucks, crane/borers for power line construction, earthmoving equipment and plant.
Integrate new technology to existing structures of all plant and machinery, including component refurbishing.
Conduct performance testing on fleet vehicles and reduce equipment downtime with innovative problem solving.
Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults.
Essential Skills / Qualifications & Experience Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certificate 3+ years heavy duty diesel fitter/mechanic experience essential Previous experience in conducting breakdowns / fault finding Strong ability to adapting to different environments and workloads Demonstrates a high level of safety and work ethic Efficient time management Have sufficient and appropriate tools to perform the role Experience on Japanese (Isuzu, Fuso, Hino etc), European (MAN, Mercedes, Volvo, etc) & American (Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack etc) Trucks Valid Australian Drivers License - "HR" Class General servicing on all types of machinery 90-day inspections Organising parts and planning jobs Desirable Skills Hydraulics experience highly desirable Experience with directional drilling and excavating equipment highly desirable Elevated Work Platform, Working at Heights and Crane Tickets highly desirable If you feel you meet the selection criteria, and would be a good fit for the role, please click APPLY NOW!!
