Our client, a leading US and Australian manufacturer and supplier to the hydraulic drill industry, is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Welshpool. Specialising in land-based applications, including mobile, top-head, hydraulic rotary drilling, the company provides rebuilds, maintenance, and servicing of heavy-duty drill rigs and equipment to industries worldwide, including mineral exploration, water wells, geothermal, construction, and oil and gas sectors.
About the Role:
As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be part of the rebuild and maintenance team, working on high-quality RC drill rigs and equipment. You will use a variety of machinery, hand tools, and fitting equipment to perform maintenance, servicing, and rebuilds as required. This is a hands-on role where your mechanical expertise will be key in ensuring the operational efficiency of complex drilling systems.
Key Responsibilities: Perform rebuilds, maintenance, and servicing of hydraulic rotary drill rigs and equipment.Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop.Adhere to company policies, procedures, and management systems.Review technical documentation, including scopes of work, manuals, and parts lists.Select and use appropriate tools and equipment to complete tasks effectively.Contribute to the accurate costings of repairs and servicing for customers.Travel to various sites for on-location repairs and servicing when required.Participate in safety meetings, pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and relevant training programs to continuously improve safety standards and workplace processes.To be successful in this role, you will need: A relevant trade qualification in Heavy Mobile Plant or Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics.Solid experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals and detailed work instructions.Strong commitment to safety with knowledge of safety regulations and concepts.Full Australian working rights.The physical capability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol Screen (including the ability to climb stairs and ladders).Remuneration & Hours: Competitive salary circa $110,000 + Superannuation plus OTMon - Fri; 10-12 hour days with possible SaturdaysFull permanent benefits including personal leave, annual leave etc.How to Apply:
