About the role: Regional Group are currently seeking an experienced Full-Time Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic, successful team, servicing our Blackwater and Clermont Quarries in Central QLD.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HD Mechanic is responsible for ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Regional fleet.
The role will consist of scheduled and priority repairs along with preventative maintenance schedules and annual roadworthy inspections.
Duties will include: 2/1 Roster (FIFO available - flights and accommodation provided) Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices.
Participation in all toolbox meetings Work within Quarry rules and regulations at all times.
Liaising with direct managers, supervisors and quarry managers daily.
Thoroughly diagnose and repair faults.
Service and maintain equipment such as (but not limited to) Plant and Crushers to the highest standards.
Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards.
Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance.
Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules.
Ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Challenge yourself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement.
Maintaining professional and clear communication with all company staff.
Skills and experience: Current Rigid Vehicle drivers' license.
Fully qualified with at least 2 years' experience as a qualified Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter.
Confident in all aspects of Plant repairs.
Sound knowledge of diesel engines and emissions.
Sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes and suspension.
Basic auto electrical knowledge.
Competent with computers and digital diagnostics.
Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.
Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.
A professional, confident and self-assured person with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and apply learnings to improve workshop processes.
A team player who is action focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns.
Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes.
Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals.
Experience in working in a high-performance team.
