Heavy Diesel Mechanic

A global water, waste and energy business is seeking permanent Heavy Diesel Mechanics to work in ACT Your new company Would you like to work for a global water, waste and energy business and get paid above award permanent pay rates? This company is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join their team and work across their Hume and Queanbeyan sites. Your new role In this role you will work from midday up until midnight Monday to Friday with some weekend work as required. You will be required to: Work with your team to conduct preventative, scheduled maintenance as well as break down maintenance. Work on both heavy rigid vehicles, bailers and skid steers on both sites, using a company vehicle to travel between sites as needed for maintenance. You will also be required to complete all paperwork associated with the maintenance of machines and vehicles. What you'll need to succeed A successful Heavy Diesel Mechanic has; A Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent - 3rd Year Apprentices will also be considered Demonstrated experience in the industry A valid drivers license and reliable transport The ability to work the required hours as mentioned above You will be required to pass a medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening as part of the company's onboarding process What you'll get in return In return, you will be paid an hourly permanent rate of $42 per hour, plus shift loading allowances and overtime. You will also be provided with tools and PPE to conduct your work and have access to company vehicles during the day if you need to travel to another location to conduct maintenance work.
