Heaton Rail | Quality Team Lead - Defence

Global industry leader in Defence engineering and manufacturing.

This is a full-time, permanent position based east of the South Canberra district.

Roles and Responsibilities Coordinate non-conformance reporting, implement corrective actions, and prepare quality documents, records and reports.
Provide mentoring and training to quality inspection staff, and allocate tasks to ensure smooth workflows.
Manage staffing issues and employee relations in line with company policies.
Collaborate with the Incoming Goods Supervisor to optimise inspections and warehouse efficiency through process improvements.
Develop and implement quality training programs while supervising the quality inspection team.
Support the Quality Manager as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of quality management activities.
Skills and Requirements Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quality, Business, Management, or prior experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated experience managing and supervising a team.
Proficiency in quality management tools and software.
Experience working in defence or equivalent regulated industries would be beneficial (e.g.
manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, mining, power, utilities, telco, rail etc.).
NOTE: To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline or NV1.
