Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team on a full time or part time basis.
As a Clinical Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our patient records, enabling our clinical team to provide the highest standards of medical care.

Key Responsiblities:
· Deliver an exceptional coding service by accurately and efficiently assigning ICD-10-AM for patient discharges across all specialities and by processing accurate clinical and medico-legal requests for information in accordance with relevant legislation.
· Provide excellent customer service to the department by providing assistance with medical record management activities and general administration duties as required.
· Support Healthscope's safety and quality improvement and achievement of accreditation by actively participating in department meetings, coding audits, quality and risk reduction activities and accreditation preparation events.
· Ensure compliance with and participation in the National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards.Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.
· Act as a valued and respectful member of the team by promoting a professional and positive team culture, providing coding and documentation advice and education to clinical and non-clinical staff, and by demonstrating attention to detail and time management.
· HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding or other recognised Clinical Coding course with experience in ICD-10-AM and ACHI according to ACS and National and State clinical coding advice and Queensland Health guidelines to meet data reporting requirements
· At least 1+ years clinical coding experience within a hospital setting
· Sound understanding of Codefinder and Turbocoder
· Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work within a team environment
· Sound knowledge of private sector funding models
· Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system preferred buy not essential
