The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) plays an essential role in the medical department, providing clinical and administrative support to the onboard medical team. HCAs often are the first medical team member seen by guests and crew and assist in delivering an excellent customer experience.
Job Details Provide clinical and administrative work under the supervision of other medical staff. Staff the reception desk, greet patients, schedule appointments, follow-ups, and patient check-in services. Assist with basic patient triage and vital signs. Assist medical staff with specimen collection and laboratory tests. Assist patients in the medical center with care needs. Assist with crew education and vaccination campaigns. Assist the medical staff in monitoring inventory levels and checking equipment. Process electronic and paper medical documentation. Participate in medical training and ship safety drills within their assigned roles. Support audits, inspections, and public health monitoring. Participate in shipboard training and competency programs to learn new skills. Uphold the company's core values and the best customer service standards. Application Requirements Qualifications Healthcare Assistant, LVN, LPN, Nurse Assistant, Enrolled Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, or any higher qualification.
Experience and Background At least three years of practice in one of the above roles, with current or recent experience.
Basic Life Support Certification is required before joining a vessel and should remain valid while onboard.
Fluency in English Written and spoken, is essential; other languages are an asset.
Computer Literacy Proficiency with Microsoft 365 in the Windows operating system is essential.
Electronic Health Records Experience and proficiency are essential.
Personality Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; ability to work cohesively in a small, diverse team.
