About The Role Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Health Specialist to provide expert guidance and support for our operations in the Gunnedah Region. In this strategic position, you'll drive health and wellbeing initiatives, making a lasting impact on our workforce. This is a 12-month fixed-term role based in Gunnedah.
What You'll Do Continuously contribute to and review key health and hygiene initiatives to minimize risks.Support the development and maintenance of health and hygiene management systems and contribute to the development of the Injury and Illness Management program.Offer expert advice on fitness for work, mental and physical wellbeing programs.Coach and provide guidance to frontline leaders on health matters.Help improve Whitehaven Coal's health surveillance program.What You'll Bring The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organisational skills, and a dedication to enhancing workplace health and hygiene. Key qualifications and experience include:
Tertiary qualifications in Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Hygiene, or a related field).Experience working with CMI (Coal Mines Insurance).Extensive clinical experience, ideally in Work, Health, and Safety.Return to Work Coordinator certification.Expertise in root cause incident investigation and risk management facilitation.Why Whitehaven Coal?
