Keysborough Secondary College is a multi-campus school with one campus in Keysborough (Acacia Campus) and one in Springvale South (Banksia Campus). Both campuses offer programs for students in years 7-12 with an organisational structure arranged around Junior and Senior sub-schools.
Enrolments in the College stand at around 2300 and are growing. The College provides a broad range of VCE, VCE-VM and VET subjects for our students across the two campuses. The College also has a significant International Students Program with its own ELC.
Student achievement and engagement is generally above Like School groups and retention is high. Our student population is culturally and linguistically diverse and characterised by families of high SFOE as a result of which the college attracts significant Equity Funding. General Satisfaction with the College, as measured by the Parent Opinion Survey, is consistently high and in 2024 was 86%.
At Keysborough Secondary College we promote teaching and learning that is collaborative, technology rich, reflective, purposeful and personalised that prepares students for our rapidly changing world. Our pedagogical model - the Keysborough Learning Framework - is based on Dr Jane Pollock's GANAG lesson planning schema. We have a strong emphasis on teaching teams, whether those teams be across subjects within a year level (Years 7-9) or within a subject across year levels (Years 10-12).

Keysborough Secondary College has undergone an extensive renewal program with the construction of two Junior Village neighbourhoods, a Senior Village neighbourhood, and a purpose-built STEM Centre on each Campus. Construction or refurbishment of a Food Technology, The Arts and Technology Centre on each campus has also been completed. The final stage has been completed for the new Administration Centre on the Banksia Campus and the refurbishment of the Music area at the Acacia Campus.

Role
The Keysborough Secondary College Health Services Manager plays a vital role in the health and wellbeing of students at each campus of the College. The College Health Services Manager supports the development, education, health and wellbeing of all Keysborough Secondary College students and their families. The Health Service Manager promotes the optimal health, wellbeing and development of students, and includes a focus on health monitoring, health promotion, education and counselling, and the provision of primary health care to students. The Health Service Manager also makes early identification and intervention for students and families at risk.
The Health Services Manager leads, manages and supports the nursing and first aid teams across the College, and works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including members of the school's education and wellbeing teams and other health practitioners. The Health Services Manager is an integral part of the school community. In promoting optimal student health wellbeing and development, the Health Services Manager plays a pivotal role in enabling students to meet their full educational potential. The Health Services Manager will promote child and adolescent health and wellbeing, assisting in early identification of students with potential health-related learning difficulties.
The Health Services Manager practices in accordance with the legal, ethical and professional framework set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
The Health Services Manager supports the nursing and first aid teams to assist in providing health care, education and support for all students. This support includes:

nursing and first aid provision within the College
health promotion and primary health prevention programs within the College
first aid training within the College
development of the College health-related policies.

Responsibilities
The Health Services Manager will:

coordinate and manage the health care centres of the College
provide clinical services leadership to registered and enrolled nurses and/or other staff within the health care centres of the College
manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the health care centres across both campuses of the College
lead and manage the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to health and wellbeing
contribute to quality improvement activities to improve the health outcomes for students
lead and manage the provision of professional development activities within the school community which relates to health and wellbeing
lead and manage staff performance and development for registered and enrolled nurses, and/or other staff within the health care centres of the College
assist in developing policies and procedures relating to health and wellbeing
demonstrate high levels of autonomous practice and expertise in health service management

Within the Health Facility:

provide primary health care to sick and injured students, staff and visitors, and carry out general first aid and/or nursing procedures as required
attend to students, staff and others who need treatment for illness or injury
administer medication to students as required and record accurately as per Department of Education requirements
actively promote primary health care within the education curriculum
make health service interventions which promote optimal student health in the following areas:
order medical supplies and keep an inventory of equipment and first aid supplies, liaising with suppliers when necessary
maintain up-to-date notices, concerning Department of Education health requirements (ie: notifiable diseases, exclusion periods)
reporting to relevant Principal Class, Student Leadership and Teaching staff, any matters of concern regarding the wellbeing of students
assist staff with the ongoing management of health-related issues in a working capacity
maintain up-to-date medical records and distribute to relevant staff
ensure parents/guardians are contacted where necessary
communicate with parents/guardians to ensure that student medical information is correct and up to date
ensure supplies are maintained at all times, including replenishing first aid kits, and checking materials and equipment to ensure it is safe for use
support staff for programs including camps and excursions where medication and/or first aid supplies are required
oversee the management and hygiene of the first aid clinics, ensuring cleanliness, high organisation and areas are maintained in accordance with OH&S standards
ensure anaphylaxis, asthma, allergy, diabetes documentation and medications are up to date at all times
maintain necessary medical records and incident forms, and where required ensure their input into the current student management programme (ie: Cases21, Compass)
maintain a strict and high level of confidentiality at all times

Additional Duties:

implement emergency management procedures when necessary
contribute to development of school policies where applicable
carry out other duties that may be deemed necessary to perform as part of the Health Services Manager role
lead in-house professional development sessions including, but not limited to, anaphylaxis, asthma and other Department of Education mandated professional development.
undertake additional duties as directed by the Principal Class Team and/or Business Manager.

Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Level 2 first aid qualification is essential, and Division 1 Registered Nurse or Related Health Care Tertiary qualification is required. The position of Health Services Manager is fulltime, across both College campuses. Remuneration is in line with the Department of Education VGSA 2022 for Education Support Class, level 1 - range 4 commencing at $92,342 per year.
The successful applicant will commence from Tuesday 28 January 2025 and the position will have a 6-month probationary period applied.
