About this team Based in the Distribution Center and reporting directly into Distribution & Logistics Manager, the Health and Safety Specialist will provide support in all areas of health and safety within the warehouse. You have a key role in contributing to the regional success of the function through maintaining compliance and Company standards. You work closely with Distribution Center operations in maintaining a safe workplace and aid in the training and development of health and safety processes and procedures to the wider team.
A day in the life: You are responsible for healthy and safety training program within the Distribution CenterYou enroll all new hires in Safety School orientation, emergency procedures, warehouse vehicle training and other health and safety processesYou maintain appropriate health and safety standards and training records as per local compliance regulations as well as Company standardsYou partner with the leadership team to facilitate and monitor transitional work programs within departmentsYou educate the leadership team on reporting process and resources to meet local compliance regulations as well as Company standardsYou investigate and report first aid, workers compensation and near miss incidentsYou maintain records of first aid, workers compensation, and near miss incidentsYou plan, organize, and lead weekly safety challenges and awareness messaging to the Safety CommitteeYou plan, organize and lead monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings for the Distribution CenterYou complete weekly real-time observations (RTO) in departments based on incident frequency, post incident, or on routine cadenceYou train the leadership team on RTO process and report on weekly activity Qualifications: You are First Aid, CPR and AED trainedYou possess Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license or the ability to obtain one upon hireYou have experience training and delivering safety related content to employeesYou have outstanding communication skills, including proven ability to influence in all areas of an organizationYou have a safety track record demonstrated through safety committee participation, external safety organization membership, or emergency response team memberYou constantly coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks within a changing environmentYou have demonstrated ability to think outside of the box, enjoy challenges and is solutions-oriented Must haves: Acknowledges the presence of choice in every moment and takes personal responsibility for their life.Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results.Communicates with honesty and kindness, and creates the space for others to do the same.Leads with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.Fosters connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.Integrates fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn't take themselves too seriously.
