The CompanyOur client is a well-established and emerging Australian ASX-listed Oil & Gas producer. They have a diverse and stable portfolio of producing and prospective gas tenements across the Northern Territory (NT) and Queensland. They also operate the largest onshore oil and gas fields in the NT, producing from proven reserves in the Amadeus Basin (west of Alice Springs). The OpportunityThe purpose of the role is to ensure that our client has systems, processes, and qualified and trained people in place to support the safe operation of their business. The role is required to ensure compliance with its regulatory obligations, establish and develop robust health and safety systems and management plans, and drive improvements and performance in these areas. The role will support all aspects of the business, with the major focus being with the operational departments including exploration, drilling, and production activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish health and safety standards for operations and contractors to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry best practices.Develop, approve, and implement project documentation, including bridging documents, emergency response plans, and site safety plans.Oversee the health and safety management system and quality assurance system.Provide support to field crews, rig teams, and contractors during mobilisation.Lead accident and incident investigations.Foster a strong safety-focused culture and work environment.Drive improvements in health and safety performance.Provide leadership in health and safety practices.Oversee health and safety reporting and data analysis.Deliver coaching, training, and competency development.Develop and monitor compliance systems.Act as system administrator for H&S management systems.Manage and maintain HSE documentation, ensuring proper implementation and communication.Qualifications & ExperienceApplicable degree and or 5 to 10 years of industry experience.Experience in upstream oil & gas, preferably onshore in Queensland and the NT.Previous roles with close interactions with operations and government.Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and environmental policy / regulation.Ability to coordinate the development of environmental management plans (EMP's).Knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements related to the management of oil and gas facilities.Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with personnel at all levels in the organisation.Strong knowledge of environmental management technology and current practices.Strong risk analysis and process development skills.How to Apply?Please click 'Apply' and submit your current resume, and I will email through the Position Description to give you further context on the opportunity.
