About the RoleWe are seeking a confident and professional Health & Safety Project Officer to promote and maintain a health and safety culture for all employees at the Autism Association. The Health and Safety Project Officer will provide administrative support to the Health and Safety team to facilitate a safe working environment for employees through the continuous improvement of the existing Health and Safety framework and promote a positive health and safety culture. The Health and Safety Project Officer builds effective relationships and liaises with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify solutions, and engage stakeholders throughout the project process.
Duties include:Plan and monitor WHS projects, initiatives, improvements, milestones and timeframesMonitor the WHS Service Desk Inbox and respond to queries via email and telephoneMonitor and verify reportable WHS data to ensure accuracy for compilation of WHS reportingMonitor and facilitate the WHS Management System document review and control processRecord, prepare and distribute WHS committee meeting minutes and monitor actionsAssist with the coordination of WHS Management system auditsContribute to the development of relevant WHS training materialMaintain Emergency Response requirements at facilities including plans and diagramsUndertake research of industry trends and emerging issues to ensure legislative complianceProvide general support across the Health and Safety team as requiredMaintain confidentiality and undertake other duties as requiredAbout YouIn this role, you will ideally have:
2 years' experience in a similar Health and Safety roleRelevant knowledge of WHS legislation and practices related to Health and SafetyUnderstanding of the principles of a Health and Safety Management SystemUnderstanding of WHS performance reporting requirements including injury managementPrevious experience in developing Health and Safety Training contentExcellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levelsStrong organisational and time management skillsMotivated to deliver a high standard of customer serviceAble to maintain confidentialityWorks well in a team environmentEnsures currency of knowledgeWe offer a competitive remuneration package and a chance to work in a caring, dedicated environment committed to making a difference for people with Autism and their families. To join our team, you'll be required to complete the required clearances including a National Police Clearance, WA driving licence and Working with Children Check.
