About the Role We are seeking a confident and professional Health & Safety Project Officer to promote and maintain a health and safety culture for all employees at the Autism Association. The Health and Safety Project Officer will provide administrative support to the Health and Safety team to facilitate a safe working environment for employees through the continuous improvement of the existing Health and Safety framework and promote a positive health and safety culture. The Health and Safety Project Officer builds effective relationships and liaises with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify solutions, and engage stakeholders throughout the project process.
Duties include: Plan and monitor WHS projects, initiatives, improvements, milestones and timeframes Monitor the WHS Service Desk Inbox and respond to queries via email and telephone Monitor and verify reportable WHS data to ensure accuracy for compilation of WHS reporting Monitor and facilitate the WHS Management System document review and control process Record, prepare and distribute WHS committee meeting minutes and monitor actions Assist with the coordination of WHS Management system audits Contribute to the development of relevant WHS training material Maintain Emergency Response requirements at facilities including plans and diagrams Undertake research of industry trends and emerging issues to ensure legislative compliance Provide general support across the Health and Safety team as required Maintain confidentiality and undertake other duties as required About You In this role, you will ideally have:
2 years' experience in a similar Health and Safety role Relevant knowledge of WHS legislation and practices related to Health and Safety Understanding of the principles of a Health and Safety Management System Understanding of WHS performance reporting requirements including injury management Previous experience in developing Health and Safety Training content Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels. Strong organisational and time management skills Motivated to deliver a high standard of customer service. Able to maintain confidentiality. Works well in a team environment. Ensures currency of knowledge.
