Opportunity
An opportunity is available for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a growing food manufacturer due to continued growth. This food manufacturer has recently been through a new site purchase and has created this role to meet the business objectives. A strong background in Health and Safety is the core focus of this position; however, environmental impact is another area that the position is required to fulfill. The company produces a range of ready-to-eat products. The company has one of the best leadership teams who are passionate, driven, and determined to get results. Furthermore, there is a very flat culture where everyone works well as a unified team.
Typical Tasks Include:
Review the current Health and Safety program and implement improvements for a more robust system where needed
Record all incidents/accidents and negate any risks to reduce LTIs
Conduct regular risk assessments - identify and communicate results
Ensure the company is compliant with OH&S legislation and regulation
Conduct regular training for operations staff on Health and Safety (including contractor inductions)
Ensure fire prevention system, chemical storage, and Hazmat details are updated and effective
Other duties as required
Qualifications
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or relevant field
Proven experience in Health & Safety
High energy and determination to succeed
FMCG background – food-related highly regarded or heavy industry
Strong communication and training skills
High attention to detail
Strong knowledge of state and federal OH&S legislation
