About the opportunity
Reporting to the SRLA Senior Manager, Health & Safety, Tunnels & Civils, this role will be a key leader within the SRLA safety matrix team by providing highly influential expert safety advice to both internal staff and contractors in accordance with the broader SRLA's 'Active Client' Model for safety.
The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring a robust and coordinated approach to health and safety management assurance through the effective implementation of SRLA's health and safety management systems, strategies, and initiatives across SRLA tunnel and civils work package, working closely with contractors, staff, key operational and functional matrix leaders to achieve safer outcomes for our people, our projects, and the broader industry.
As a key focus, this role will take on safety assurance of operational activities for the tunnels and civils work package throughout the lifecycle of a project, to verify compliance with legislative, contractual requirements and best practice.
You will possess strong commercial acumen, accompanied with the expertise and subject matter knowledge in safety, with a proven ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels (e.g., staff, operational leaders, contractors).
