Position Health & Safety Manager - Major Projects As H&S Manager you will provide effective support to the project team for a number of Major Project workstreams.
This includes specialist safety advice and support both on and off-site.
As this is a senior management role, you will perform both strategic and on-site management activities.
The purpose of the Health and Safety (H&S) Manager is to provide specialist and technical H&S advice and lead H&S activities for the project, and across the project lifecycle.
The role is required to effectively communicate H&S strategies; relate policies and procedures; ensure H&S assurance, report and manage H&S incidents; and exert influence.
A key focus is on critical risks, the continual improvement of H&S performance and the culture in the workplace.
This position is embedded within the project team and reports to the Project Director.
It will draw on technical support from the wider H&S team in ensuring project H&S standards and practices meet standard requirements whilst ensuring the specific requirements of the project are fulfilled.
Requirements Tertiary qualifications degree or associate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Minimum of ten years of high-risk industry experience Minimum of ten years experience in the development and application of Health and Safety Management Systems Auditing in compliance with ISO standards and certification Demonstrated experience and knowledge of H&S-related operational issues associated with Infrastructure and construction projects Investigation Qualification and demonstrated experience Excellent oral and written skills, superior communication skills with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas through clear and effective messages.
Proven experience in implementing and managing effective stakeholder relationships, with demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills A comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of WHS legislation, relevant Codes of Practice, and Australian and international Standards and Guidelines.
