The Opportunity UGL Utilities division is seeking expressions of interest for an experienced Health and Safety Manager on our Maragle Project. UGL has been appointed Principal Contractor for TransGrid's Maragle Switching Station and Transmission Line Project based in Maragle in New South Wales, approx. 500km southwest of Sydney, as part of the Snowy Mountain 2.0 Project.
The work involves:
Design and construction of Maragle 330kV Switching Station and supporting works. Design and construction of two 330kV transmission lines, cut into Line 64, the installation of OPGW on a section of Line 64, and supporting works. The Health and Safety Manager provides advice to support and maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the project ensuring the highest standard in OH&S.
Some key responsibilities of this role will include:
Monitor and interpret relevant HSSE legislation, policies and regulations in order to provide direction and advice to projects which meet statutory and corporate objectives and responsibilities. Provide advice and coaching to Project Managers, Supervisors, and Construction Managers on project specific HSSE reporting & Analysis for client and management needs. Liaise with customers, external regulatory bodies, and state organisations responsible for workplace safety and ensure compliance and compatibility with their systems and processes. Design and deploy safety culture change initiatives aimed at increasing the focus and attention to safety and environment in the business.
