Organisation Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations. The project involves linking two existing dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through 27km of tunnels and building a new underground power station. Water will be pumped to the upper dam when there is surplus renewable energy production and the energy demand is low, and then released back to the lower dam to generate energy when electricity demand is high.
Position: Health & Safety Initiative Lead This position is responsible for developing and delivering change initiatives that support the HSE strategy. The role reports to the HSE Systems Manager. This role requires a high level of skills and experience in:
Applying safety differently approaches Excellent communication skills Evidence-building to develop key performance indicators Designing and implementing health and safety programs Training, education, continued improvement and risk assessment & mitigation Learning Teams This person will run learning teams workshops and manage all actions to help drive safety improvements across the business. This person will work closely with key stakeholders from the main contractor.
Perform a deep dive of current risk programs, again working with key stakeholders from main contractors to implement across all aspects of Snowy 2.0.
Development and Delivery of Training Programs Building understanding around the safety differently way of thinking. This will involve onsite training across project teams.
