This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work within a terrific team that prides itself on a positive & healthy culture.Our current OHS&E is about to take maternity leave & requires a committed person to maintain the high quality of Safety that has been established in her absence.A highly motivated individual who is organised with the determination to ensure OHS&E compliance obligations are constantly exceeded.Reporting to the Commercial Manager and CEO, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the health and safety of all work environments within the business, internally and externally. This includes monitoring and controlling of health and safety compliance and related updated standards, promoting safety awareness among the team, advising management on associated laws and regulations, preparing safety policies, train employees on safety and health related issues, maintain health and safety records of the business.Offering free parking onsite, in an easy to get to location, working alongside great people, this role offers an opportunity for you to enjoy coming to work! You will be providing specialist advice on all aspects of OHS&E, Risk & Compliance for our expanding team & cliental. Our team will offer hands on support, training and guidance during your tenure. WHAT YOU WILL NEEDMin 3 years' experience in the Construction IndustryCert III or higher in OHSWorking knowledge of laws and regulations related to the environment and workplace health and safetySound computer literacyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWhite CardPreferred VESI trainingCar LicenseYou are not afraid of working in a fast paced and competitive industry, drawing on your extensive knowledge of health, safety and quality to work in partnership with our team.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/SKILLSLeadership experience having worked in a similar positionCollaborative and supportiveExceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relations, internal and externalDemonstrated ability to self-manageWell-developed information management and analytical skillsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsInnovate and proactive approach to work environmentsStrong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmentallegislation and complianceThe ability to work in partnership with all team members for the benefit of the business as a whole.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor Health and Safety in all work environmentsConduct workplace internal and external audits and inspectionsMaintain all OHS&E recordsCoordinate training for site personnel and ensure records are maintainedEnsure compliance to OHS&E Management SystemMonitor and update systems as requiredRecord & Investigate all OHS&E incidents and continuous improvementEnsure all Vehicles, Plant and Equipment are in good working condition and in serviceConduct regular scheduled safety workgroup & management meetingsEnsure all staff are working to and maintain safe work practicesEnsure all calibrations & testing is in date & recordedPrepare & communicate project specific OHS&E documentationDevelop strategies and implement new systems in relation to safetyMonitor updates of legislation, act, regulations, codes of practice & compliance codesDevelop and maintain a strong rapport with Applied employees, contractors and clients.Promote the Applied values and standards in OHS&E management and awareness amongst staff, clients, contractors and clients.Develop & Issue OHS&E communication to staff/contractorsFor a confidential discussion regarding this role, please feel free to call Julie on 0416 017 *** Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
