Health Safety Environment and Quality Adviser (HSEQ)Freight Lines Group (FLG) is a Western Australia (WA) regional transport specialist providing road transport, warehousing and logistics solutions to our customers with first class levels of safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
FLG was established in the 1960s and is 100% family owned.
At FLG we operate a well-maintained and highly efficient fleet of vehicles with depots in Esperance, Ravensthorpe, Kalgoorlie, Albany, Perth and Geraldton.
Our services include the transport of Foodstuffs, Produce (either ambient or temperature controlled), General Freight, Bulk Liquids, Grains and Fertilisers and Specialised Bulk including Flexi-N.

Position Purpose: This role provides support to managers in the promotion of the company HSEQ systems, coordinates and manages incident and accident reporting and ensures investigations are carried out in a timely manner.
You will also be responsible for the facilitation of WHS toolbox meetings monthly or as required.
You will work under the guidance of the Safety Manager who will offer you their full support and leadership.
Collectively both will drive Freight Lines Groups organisational HSEQ Management Systems within the Perth depot and regional centres.
Role Requirements: Ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management SystemsAssist with the development and improvement of existing policies and proceduresAssist Compliance Officer with training requirements for all general freight depotsUndertake injury management coordination and consultations for general freight divisionsImplementation of the Workplace Health Safety and Environmental Quality PlanResponsible for job site inspections locally and regionally if deemed requiredProvide knowledge and support for management team in recruitment process when needed.Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementationPerform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendationsResponsible for monitoring adherence to company safety program for employees and subcontractors.Ensure compliance with our Safety and HACCP accreditations.Ensure timely completion of accident/injury reporting to management teamIncident Management at the Perth Depot & regional if deemed required.Undertake internal audits, manage external audits.Creating return to work plans and assist with workers compensation claimsConduct Toolbox meetingsAssist with tenders requirementsAssist with customer reporting and compliance requirementsOther duties as reasonably required from time to timeSkill and Experience: Motivated and passionate learnerCertificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalentDemonstrated experience in conducting safety inspections, audits and implementing improvementsHigh level written, oral communication and well-developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to actively promote a culture of safetyDemonstrated working knowledge of safety legislation, standards, compliance codes and risk managementDemonstrated understanding of managing safety risks, the capacity to review and analyse incident reports and to provide advice on corrective actionsAdvanced word processing skills and computer literacyCurrent class 'C' driver's licenceExperience in the transport industry is highly desirableHigh attention to detail and accuracyBe able to work as part of a teamBe able to travel to regional depots as deemed requiredRapid Induct, Incident and Contractor experience (desirable)Safety Culture (iAuditor) Highly desirableMTData Telematics (Hawk-eye) Highly desirableCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)Understanding of WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (desirable)Reports to: HSEQ Manager
