Leveraging from existing frameworks deployed across the organisation by the People Capability Command's (PCC) Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) teams, this role, via the Project Director Strategic People and Engagement, SQCP-S2, directly supports the Principal Consultant (Health and Safety) – operating under the Superintendent (Strategic People and Communications) and the Superintendent HSW – to implement the systems, practices, policies, services and programs that will build and promote a sustainable workplace health, safety and wellbeing culture for SQCP-S2.Job details

Up to 30 June 2025 with possible extension.Provide assistance and advice to the Project team and local management in implementing the QCS Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS) in the SQCP-S2 facility, ensuring compliance with legislative obligations, QCS policies and practice directives relating to health, safety and wellbeing (HSW).Coordinate and facilitate workplace consultation processes in relation to HSW matters and their resolution for the SQCP-S2 facility.Assist management in ensuring that a process is in place to ensure that all hazards and incidents occurring in the SQCP-S2 workplace are appropriately reported, investigated, controlled and managed.Coordinate and facilitate risk assessments as required and provide expert advice to supervisors and managers regarding the elimination or minimisation of HSW risks at the SQCP-S2 facility.In collaboration with training staff, provide instruction, guidance and information to staff in the application of relevant HSW procedures and processes.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, central agencies and regulators to build capability and ensure legislative and related requirements are met.Assist various WHS related projects that align with Departmental strategies and SQCP-S2 operating model, for improving work health and safety for the centre, including risk management, chemical management, system alignment and WHS operational process development.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/604042/24Closing Date: Thursday, 28th November 2024Further information
