Glencore Coal Assets Australia has an opportunity in the Hunter Valley for a dedicated Health, Safety & Training Manager to join the Closure Team responsible for the closure and rehabilitation of Liddell open cut mine. This position is permanent full time, working a Monday to Friday roster. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Management System for compliance with legal and company requirements. As well as actively promoting and demonstrating positive safety leadership to enhance the workplace culture and safety performance.
Other responsibilities that support the Health and Safety Management System include:
Contractor management Health monitoring programs Providing technical advice and support on health, safety and training to project team members and contractors. Maintaining systems for the management of visible leadership. Implementing process and systems for providing all employees and contractors with adequate skills and knowledge regarding safe systems of work to enable them to carry out their work in a safe environment. Management and support of injury management and rehabilitation processes. This position requires a thorough understanding of the NSW statutory obligations relevant to Workplace Health and Safety, tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety field is mandatory with training qualifications desirable.
Ideally you will have leadership experience in senior safety roles with a proven track record in demonstrating strong systems focus and strategic approach to creating and maintaining a safe workplace. Exceptional leadership capability and relationship building skills will be complemented by a well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing abilities.
