We specialise and pride ourselves in being a strong, stable and reliable supplier of power tools, steel, fasteners, hardware and hand tools, welding equipment, trailers and trailer parts, tool storage solutions, machinery and industrial products.About Your New RoleReporting to the General Manager based in Devonport, you will be heavily involved in the development of CGL's behavioral-based HSE and wellbeing programs and then drive the implementation within the Nubco business unit.You will partner with the business managers to lead, coach, and support how they identify and address unsafe behaviours, foster positive HSE practices, and nurture our value of Safety First and zero harm.As a key member of both the People Senior Leadership Team and Nubco Senior Business Unit Leadership Team, you will excel in balancing Coventry Group and business-unit HSE requirements within a dynamic matrix environment.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include:
Provide expert leadership, guidance, and support for implementing safe work practices and procedures.Lead a behavioural-based safety program to create a culture of safety consciousness, emphasising identifying unsafe behaviors and reinforcing positive safety practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate incidents, uncover root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions, promoting continuous improvement in safety.Cultivate a proactive safety culture by engaging stakeholders at all levels as an expert in HSE and wellbeing related best practices and encouraging their active participation in HSE initiatives and programs and taking ownership of safety programs.Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in behavioral-based safety and incorporate relevant advancements into the organisation's HSE practices and systems.Partner with local business leaders to conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, areas for improvement and action plans to address them in line with relevant compliance regulations.Why Work for UsWe are a solution-oriented business that highly values its people.
