This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor within the Linewide team.The Role:As a Health and Safety Advisor, your responsibility will be to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.
You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel involved in construction projects, including employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Your expertise and guidance will be critical in promoting a culture of safety and minimising the risk of accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards.Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to project teams, site managers, and subcontractors on all health and safety matters.Assist in the development and delivery of comprehensive health and safety training programs for employees and subcontractors, including toolbox talks and safety inductions.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures and corrective actions.Collaborate with project teams to review construction plans and designs, ensuring they meet health and safety requirements and consider risk mitigation strategies.Stay up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices, and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.Conduct safety audits and monitor subcontractors' compliance with health and safety standards, contractual obligations, and site-specific safety plans.Promote a positive safety culture by organizing safety campaigns, initiatives, and awareness programs to engage all personnel and enhance their safety awareness.Participate in pre-construction meetings, risk assessments, and method statement reviews to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.Qualifications and Skills:Qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.First Aid Certificate.Experience within the Civil and/or Rail Industry.Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the construction industry, preferably within a Tier 1 Contractor organisation.Thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice; Rail industry experience will be an advantage.Strong understanding of construction processes, hazards, and risk assessment methodologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to conduct comprehensive incident investigations and produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety performance.What's next?If you would like to join our team and align with the criteria required for the role, we encourage you to submit your CV by clicking 'Apply'.Interested to learn more about Parklife Metro JV?
