Sino Iron is the largest magnetite mining and downstream processing operation in Australia, located 100kms Southwest of Karratha in the mining hub of the Pilbara.
Our fully integrated operation features an open pit mine serviced by the biggest haul trucks in the world, a six-line concentrator and port terminal facilities at nearby Cape Preston.

The Opportunity CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health and Safety team on a permanent 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the Superintendent - Health and Safety, this role is responsible for providing advice, assistance, guidance, and support to all personnel on all Health and Safety issues relevant to the Sino Iron Project, with the aim of providing a safe workplace for employees, contracting partners and visitors.
In this role you'll be responsible for:
Performing regular and effective workplace inspections, identifying hazards and conducting thorough risk assessments to mitigate potential issues.Providing professional Health & Safety input into Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Hazard Environmental Analyses (JHEA), and risk assessments to ensure robust safety planning.Assisting work teams in identifying risks, preparing JHEAs, and conducting team-based risk assessments to improve overall safety awareness and practice.Participating in incident investigations, applying root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and developing SMART corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.Offering guidance and assistance to Health & Safety representatives to enhance their effectiveness in the workplace.Regularly review existing work procedures to identify opportunities for improvement in hazard control measures and operational safety.Provide coaching, advice, and support to the site team, ensuring effective implementation and auditing of Health & Safety Plans and Procedures.Ensuring that Health & Safety compliance requirements are clearly communicated to all team members and stakeholders.Successful applicant will have: A current WA Manual Drivers Licence is essential.Minimum of 3 years mining/resource industry experience.Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.Working and practical knowledge of the WA WHSA, WHSMR, and applicable Australian Standards, and Codes of Practice.Ability to conduct Audits, Investigations, and Workplace Inspections.Experience in incident investigations and auditing.As an employee of CPM, we offer a range of benefits including leave benefits, personal and family benefits, education and training, salary sacrifice options, and lifestyle benefits through preferred suppliers.
