We are currently seeking a passionate & proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team, based in Ipswich.
Job Summary: As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both our clients and team members. You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety strategies, policies and reports/documents tailored to our unique environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections and audits of our facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and risks.
Support the Health & Safety Team to develop & implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Provide guidance and support to management and team members on health and safety matters, including training programs and workshops.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions and practices to ensure continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Contribute to the ongoing review and strengthening of emergency response procedures.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to health and safety activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent qualification).
Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role, preferably within the healthcare or disability support sector.
In-depth knowledge of QLD health and safety regulations and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
