Townsville University Hospital , located adjacent to one of Queensland's leading tertiary institutions, James Cook University, is the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, providing specialist referral services for 700,000 people living from Mackay, to the Torres Strait, to the Northern Territory border.
Please note, the incumbent to the Health Promotion Officer - Senior position can be based in either Mount Isa or Townsville.

Remuneration package of up to $157,360 p.a., comprising base salary range of $128,169 - $137,918 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP4), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).
Please note: applies to interstate and international relocation. Eligible workers already working in Queensland within an MM1-MM3 location who relocate to take up this role may also be eligible for this incentive.

About the role Design, deliver and evaluate high quality health promotion strategies for relevant health priority areas identified within the health service. This role will have an initial principal focus on Healthy Housing pilot projects. Design, prepare, maintain, implement and disseminate high quality project documentation and other relevant information including project plans, options analyses, and status reports. Contribute to the health promotion planning and service delivery of the unit. Role requirements
The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree qualification or a higher degree in Health Promotion or Public Health. Knowledge and experience in the fields of health promotion, public health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, communicable disease control including vector borne illnesses is desirable.
