We are excited to offer a permanent fulltime role to the best suited applicant as the Principal Policy Advisor. This role will work collaboratively with Forensic pathology and Coronial Services for both internal and external stakeholders in the provision of high quality advisory and support services to FPaCS leadership. This role will lead and manage key strategic policy projects, and operational program development activities, that relate to FPaCS core functions and service improvement priorities.
Analyse and convey complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in relation to FPaCS' operational and policy priorities.
Key competencies (role specific criteria) You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Proven success in the design and delivery of strategic policy initiatives within a complex and sensitive service delivery environment. Demonstrated record of achievement in providing accurate and effective advice to support senior stakeholders to represent the Department on sensitive operational issues and strategic policy priorities. Excellent understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an excellent understanding, of the coronial system in Queensland, including the Coroner's Act 2003 . Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write high quality, concise reports, briefs and correspondence that are tailored to the level of knowledge, skill and experience of the audience. Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and motivational skills and an ability to role model professional and expected behaviours and build strong peer relationships. Qualifications, registrations and other requirements While not mandatory, a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant field will be well regarded. Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella. Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position. Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is with a different Queensland Health entity (i.e. one HHS to another HHS, department to a HHS, or HHS to department).
