The Department of Health is seeking interest for a permanent part-time Health Information Quality Officer to join the Health Information Management Services team, based at Mersey Community Hospital.
The Role: Undertake the day-to-day supervision of Health Services Officers within HIS, ensuring that service delivery standards, service objectives and strategies are understood, implemented, and maintained.Review metadata failures and provide subject matter expertise to staff regarding the review and evaluation of practice to ensure documents align with AS 2828 Health Records and Agency policies, protocols, and guidelines.Troubleshoot local user issues related to HIS systems and scanning operation as appropriate including escalating and communicating with Health ICT for complex errors in the system as and when required.Provide administrative support to Health Information Services (HIS) and undertake a supervisory role of Health Information Officers regarding daily tasks and quality control work.Raise, collate, and compile regular and ad hoc reports for senior management/committees regarding failed electronic transmissions and/or anomalies to support action and service delivery improvements.The Team: We work as a broader statewide Health Information Management Service to support patient care.We apply, deliver and promote high quality health and clinical information for decision making.We are professional and respectful in the workplace, foster a positive work attitude, encourage the sharing of ideas and respect the opinions of others.You will need: Demonstrated experience to operate and maintain accuracy in computerized health information systems and health records including the ability to provide training, support and advice related to these.High level of interpersonal, communication, and diplomacy skills; organizational and teamwork skills; including demonstrated ability to use initiative, sound judgement and discretion.Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology, records management activities, and maintaining strict confidentiality practices.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment: Permanent part-time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Minimum 3 years' experience working in a health records environment.
Sound skills in the area of information management, data analysis, and statistics.
