The Opportunity Peninsula Private Hospital is seeking a part-time, experienced Clinical Coder or Health Information Manager for an ongoing role.
Working within the Health Information Services Department, this role is dedicated to quality clinical coding, working closely with clinicians to clarify documentation and undertaking end-of-month data extraction for health funds and the department of health.
The role will be tasked with:
Abstracting relevant information from the patient record (paper-based)Assigning accurate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes and performing Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) groupingUndertaking mandatory reporting of end-of-month data to health funds and the Department of HealthUndertaking Medicolegal processes including the release of patient information in accordance with Healthscope Policy (HIM role only)About You You will be an experienced Clinical Coder or Health Information Manager who is able to code, on average, 5 – 8 episodes per hour.
You will enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, have excellent attention to detail, and good communication skills.
You will be experienced in identifying discrepancies between clinical information systems and patient records and feedback through the appropriate channels.
To be successful in your application, you will:
Have obtained a Bachelor of Health Information Management or completion of a nationally recognized training course in ICD-10-AM Coding and ClassificationExperience in coding using ICD-10-AM, ACHI & ACSExperience using 3M Codefinder & TurbocoderExperience in a management or leadership roleStrong organizational skills in planning, prioritizing, and managing workloadsAbout Us With 60 inpatient Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym, and 3 operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula, our facility averages 760 admissions per month.
