We are looking for individuals passionate about health to join our allied health professional team.
Our health consultants provide a range of services in the corporate setting including providing health checks, health coaching and a range of profession-specific services (e.g.
dietitians and nutrition stands).
Work occurs all across the Hobart metropolitan area, so access to your own car is required.
Travel is also required for rural trips occasionally, for which all expenses are covered by TELUS Health.
What you will do: Conduct employee health checks, including cholesterol testing, blood pressure, waist measurement and lifestyle questionnaires. Conduct health expo stands relevant to your professional skills. There may also be an aspect of health coaching and potential opportunity to provide seminars in your area of expertise. In turn we want you to: Have a knowledge of workplace health promotion and the delivery of corporate health programs or relevant health promotion experience. Display high quality organisation and time management skills. Commit to delivering high quality assessments. Liaise directly with a range of individuals, including clients, health professionals, program managers & equipment coordinators. Communicate with a wide range of occupational groups, displaying your interpersonal skills to support the client and deliver outcomes. Skills and Experience Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualification in Health Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Nursing or equivalent health-related degree. Current First Aid certificate (within the last 3 years). Current CPR certificate (within the last 12 months). Current Police Check (this can be arranged if you don't already have one). Desirable Criteria: ESSA, DAA, APA or AHPRA membership (or eligible for membership). Available 1 or more week days per week. Experience in the conduct of health/fitness assessments and the provision of healthy lifestyle counselling are desirable. Availability for rural travel and overnight trips. Work Arrangement Health consultants work on a casual basis, based on available shifts and your personal availability.
Locations of individual shifts can vary across the Hobart metropolitan area, with occasional rural trips on offer.
Health consultants have the flexibility to provide their availability for any shifts that may be available at any given time.
Ideal candidates would have at least 1 day per week available to work, all our work occurs between Monday and Friday.
