An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Inpatient Unit Waratah) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will Contribute to Comprehensive Care Planning and recovery-orientated practice to support consumers in their personal development and treatment.Participate in the management of consumers who present in psychiatric crisis with identified factors likely to resolve within 72 hours, as a result of observation.Demonstrate good communication skills including verbal, written and clinical.Provide direction and education to other staff which may include casual staff members and nursing students.About you To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia.Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing).A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable.Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).About Us Waratah Unit is located at Robina Hospital, clinically managed and operated by Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS), Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS). This integrated service model is a recovery and trauma-informed model that serves as a platform to provide 8 Short Stay Pathway (average 72-hour length of stay) and 8 Extended Treatment Pathway beds (longer length of stay). The Waratah Unit provides 2 streamlined pathways of care for managing adult consumers.
