Multiple Permanent, Temporary and Casual Opportunities
The Clinical Nurse Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS) is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).
This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to acute mental health inpatient services.

The Clinical Nurse provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).

This position is appointed to the Mental Health Service and may be required to work from a number of West Moreton Mental health Service sites, or in a comparable mental health position.

About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in acute mental health inpatient service nursing, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
Demonstrated ability to participate in the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes and contribute to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
Ability to prioritise clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads with proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.
