Health Care Worker – Private Carer

Part time nurse carer for gentleman in his seventies who is independent in activities of daily living but requires assistance with shopping, cooking, laundry, administrative tasks and companionship with nature walks and gallery visits in the local area.

Support is needed in the following areas:
Life admin – support day-to-day doing things like shopping, cooking, washing clothes, taking medications appropriately, going to appointments, ensuring his hearing aids are working and cleaned, help in the garden.
Driving and companionship – Client does not drive and will require some trips to shops and activities.
He enjoys bird watching and going to the art gallery.
Friendly general companionship is also desired.
Carers with an interest in birds, nature, science, or medicine would be highly suitable due to shared interests with the client.
Essential requirements for application:
Certificate III in Support care or Certificate in Ageing and Disability or equivalent in Aged Care or Mental Health Care, Certificate IV Disability.
First Aid Certificate.
Drivers Licence.
10+ years of experience in relevant areas.
Favoured applicants will:
Have an interest in medicine (the client is a former Doctor and enjoys conversations related to this).
Have an interest in nature and birds.
Have a sense of curiosity, openness, honesty, kindness and a sense of fun.
