We have partnered with a mining contractor with an APAC presence for the recruitment of a Health and Safety Specialist to join their team with a focus on contractor management. You will be based at their site in the Darling Downs Region, where they both manage and operate the mine.
In the position, you will support the effective management of contractors and continue to foster a culture of safety and compliance. You will play a vital role in building relationships with a strong commitment to safety and improvement. This is a site-based role working a 9-day fortnight.
What you'll be doing: Auditing Contractor Management Systems and implementing improvement plans.Conducting regular workplace inspections, safety/task observations, and employee engagements.Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements and legislation.Supporting the SSE, Contract Owners, contractors, and suppliers to meet obligations under the Contractor Management System and Safety & Health Management System.Leading and participating in external and internal audits of the Safety and Health Management System.Overseeing the Learning Management System.Fostering productive relationships and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.Suitable Candidates will have: An Advanced Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety.Knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation in heavy industry.Experience developing documentation within a safety and health management system.Experience leading and assisting with audits.Experience in leading incident investigations.The ability to work well in a team that assists across multiple functions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
