About the role:We have an exciting career opportunity for a Health and Safety Specialist – based at our Geocycle operation in Dandenong. In this role you will support line leadership across a portfolio of operations in Victoria and South Australia to create and maintain a safe, healthy, productive and sustainable workplace through the implementation of the Cement Australia Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities include:Coordinate, with direct input from line leadership the specific operational controls for the implementation and compliance to the CA SHEQMS (specifically Safety and Health).Maintain a detailed and current understanding of existing and developing Safety and Health Regulatory requirements applicable to the Victorian and South Australian operations and keep line leadership informed of these developments.Provide advice to and support line leadership to develop and implement site specific processes, systems, work instructions, forms and other supporting documentation to meet the requirements of the CA SHEQMS.Support the internal Group SHEQ Audit Program and conduct local level audits and inspections as necessary to identify the level of compliance with and effectiveness of the CA SHEQMS and any other compliance obligation.Proactively engage with and support workers, HSRs, SHE Committee members and line leaders.About you:To be successful in this role, you will have:
Extensive experience in a Safety operational role within the transportation, waste/dangerous goods, manufacturing and/or mining industry.Understanding and interpretation of Workplace Health and Safety Legislation.Bachelor's degree (chemistry, engineering, environment, safety, occupational health and hygiene) discipline preferred.
