Health and Safety Manager McConnell Dowell Constructors Aust. Pty Ltd are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join this unique green energy project located in Kidston, North QLD. The Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro project is the first of its kind in Australia in more than 40 years and will be the country's third-biggest electricity storage facility.
About the role Provide advice and assistance to the Project Manager for the development, implementation, review, and revision of HSE sections of the Project Execution Plan. Maintain the project library of safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice. Report on health and safety matters to the Project Manager including preparation of incident and loss statistics and monthly summary reports. Promote and encourage the culture of working safely and setting a positive example for all other personnel. Participate in project risk assessments and preparation of risk control documents. Ensure regular site safety inspections of site activities are carried out. Ensure all local statutory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environment are incorporated into the Project Execution Plan. About you Extensive operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry. Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be resourceful/self-reliant in investigating and enquiring into issues. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and the practical application thereof. Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
