Health and Safety Advisor - Policies and ProceduresPosition Title: Health & Safety Advisor - Policies and Procedures - State GovernmentLocation: Primarily based in South East with a hybrid work model, plus some travel to sites.Employment Type: Permanent, Full-timeJob Purpose:The Health & Safety Advisor will assist the Health & Safety Lead in implementing this State Government's safety strategy, aiming to foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in engaging stakeholders, building a strong safety culture, and ensuring safety practices meet ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards.Key Responsibilities:Support the Health & Safety Lead in delivering strategic health and safety objectives and driving a culture of open safety communication.Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to implement safety initiatives, projects, and contractor management systems.Maintain compliance with ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards and continuously improve the Safety Management System.Develop and refine health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation, coordinating closely with subject matter experts.Partner with the Health & Safety Training Lead to ensure employees and contractors receive necessary safety training and refreshers.Qualifications and Experience:Tertiary qualification in OHS or a related discipline, with substantial experience in civil construction safety or similar high-risk environments.Experience with ISO45001 standards, safety audits, and procedure documentation.Strong analytical skills to identify trends, a proactive approach to safety improvements, and an ability to influence across all levels.Knowledge of high-risk industries is highly beneficial.
