About the ProjectThe Midland Station Cale Street Project is being delivered by The Midland Junction Alliance (MJA), comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, McConnell Dowell, Georgiou Group, BG&E and Arcadis. With McConnell Dowell as the principal contractor, the Midland Station is a design and construct project, which will be built in multiple complex stages to facilitate delivery and include the commissioning and interconnection of existing freight and passenger rail line networks and Final Asset Acceptance (FAA) of the works.About the RoleWe are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor with experience in Civil and Rail to join our team on the Midland Junction Alliance project in Perth. This role will play a key role in providing health and safety leadership and support to project personnel. If you're looking to join a company that encourages people to think outside the box, influence change through great ideas and continuous improvement, this role is ideal for you.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Work to achieve the project health and safety targets and building a strong health and safety culture.Be familiar with and provide advice on health and safety law and regulations applicable to works being undertaken.Ensure that project operations are carried out safely at all times.Support initiatives as implemented by the HSE Manager.Complete HSE investigations and develop reports on all incident investigations in line with client and the MJA Alliance timeframes.Review site risk registers, with identified controls for each construction execution plan and facilitate CRAWs as necessary.Provide ongoing HSE advice to Supervisors, Contractors and site workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.Assist in reporting, investigating and implementing corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near miss incidents and work-related illness/injury.Identify areas for improvement, review and ensure compliance to Environmental Management procedures.Participate in project risk assessments and preparation of risk control documents.Carry out regular site safety and environmental inspections and/or audits as required.Continuously review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant and equipment and identify HSE hazards.Carry out site inductions and conduct toolbox meetings.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need the following:Proven experience working in the relevant rail industry of at least 3 years – rail delivery is highly regarded.Relevant tertiary qualifications in HSE.Experience within the Construction/Engineering sectors.Strong and clear communication skills, written and verbal.Advocate for a strong safety culture.We're dedicated to building a diverse workplace, so we also look at applicants with great transferable skills from similar industries.
