We are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer (AHLO) to join our team and contribute to the delivery of Karpa Ngarrattendi Aboriginal Hospital Liaison services.
About the role: As an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the healthcare system and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Your primary responsibilities will include providing culturally appropriate support, advocacy, and guidance to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the unique needs and cultural considerations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients are respected and addressed throughout their healthcare journey.
About you: Cert III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice or Community Care) Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers, and other organisations. Ability to develop supportive and collaborative relationships with Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities. Please see the attached Role Description for additional information.
