About the role: As the headspace Manager for Kalgoorlie, you will lead, develop, implement, oversee and manage the operations, and the future growth and development of headspace Kalgoorlie Centre. The incumbent will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure all activities are in accordance with the headspace grant agreement and direction provided by the lead agency, WAPHA, headspace National Office, consortium partners, the Youth Reference Group, and the Family and Friends Reference Group.
Requirements of the role: This role will require someone who is highly motivated and capable, someone who will facilitate excellence in integrated, holistic health care with the goal of improving outcomes for clients of the service and the wider community. To succeed in this role, you will need demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of staff and team performance, as well as a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Manager must show commitment to working in culturally secure and competent ways. In this role, it is essential to hold a Tertiary qualification in behavioural/social sciences, youth work, health/mental health nursing or approved equivalent. This ensures you have an in-depth understanding of mental health challenges and experiences of young people in Australia.
Some of the key responsibilities but not limited to are: In accordance with the headspace grant agreement, lead, develop, oversee and evaluate service delivery to young people and their families/significant others. Communicate, promote and progress HOPE's vision, strategic plan and regional business plan, and the purpose of headspace in collaboration with the Regional General Manager. Promote, participate in, and contribute to a supportive team environment. Provide management oversight to headspace staff at the headspace Esperance Service. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the headspace Kalgoorlie Centre. Oversee the recruitment and selection of any new staff (including private practitioners) and ensure they are oriented to the procedures and operations of the service. Manage and supervise staff, monitor performance and development, and address performance issues effectively according to documented policies and procedures. Shape and structure a working environment that is conducive to high productivity, where all staff understand what is expected of them and how their efforts contribute to organisational success. Participate in and support other members of the headspace Kalgoorlie and Esperance team to undertake programs, education, and training, and other opportunities offered by WAPHA, headspace National Office, and through the headspace network. Support the Regional General Manager Goldfields North to develop the Goldfields annual regional business plan and ensure deliverables and key performance indicators are achieved. About you: You will have a commitment to work in culturally secure and competent ways. Degree level qualifications in allied health, behavioural/social sciences, youth work, mental health nursing, or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience. Demonstrated substantial experience at managing and reporting on operational systems for a health or community services organisation, including effectively planning and allocating resources in order to maximise operational efficiency and meet funding deliverables. Demonstrated experience at managing all aspects of staff and team performance, including recruitment, staff orientation, supervision, performance reviews, staff disciplinary action, performance development and team building. Proven track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people and professionals. A broad understanding of the challenges and experiences of young people in Australia. This role requires the following clearances: Working with Children Check Current unrestricted WA Driver's licence National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months) Appointments will be subject to Australian residency/visa, satisfactory National Criminal Record checks, the Working With Children Check, records, Current C or A class driver's license, and suitable work referee.
